The Gift
Today’s Gospel is the end
of John, Chapter 17. Just the next
verse of 18:1 has Jesus going to the garden where he will be betrayed and
arrested.
So, these are the very
last words of Jesus before his arrest.
And he prays to the
Father, speaking of his disciples present and all “those who will believe in me
through their words.”
“Father, they are your
gift to me.”
We are the gift from the
Father to Jesus.
And Jesus is the gift from
the Father to us.
I am the Father’s gift to
Jesus. Jesus is the Father’s gift to me.
Spend some time with that
today and during this week.
